Please note: Though I have examined the content of all links, they are completely beyond my control - I am not responsible for the content of these sites.

Links for Parents:

  • I think it is extremely important to protect your children from inappropriate websites. A good resource is netnanny filtering software, which provides control over the sites that your child can visit.
  • For parents living in Marin County, a useful resource is the Marin County website, which provides a wealth of links to local government and services.
  • For parents of young children, Parent.com provides a great place for information about all of those worries that every new parent has.
  • Parents in the San Francisco Bay Area will love the new Go Kid site. This resource lists events and activities every day of the year. There's even a list of summer camps and contact details. At the moment it is heavily biased to San Francisco but there are plans afoot to extend coverage to the North, East and South bay. Take a peek...
  • Are you trying to figure out the best way to deal with a fresh bee sting? Try Web MD for information on health-related issues or Dr Koop for advice and a great page for health news.

Links for Children and Teens:

  • Everyone gets stuck looking for answers to homework problems. The folks at Bigchalk.com have hundreds of links for children from first grade to college. It's easy to navigate too...
  • B. J. Pinchbeck's Homework helper is a site set up by B.J., a thirteen year old boy and his father (with a little help from the Discovery Channel). In it, you will find links to over 600 sites that are arranged to help young learners.
  • Another great site is the self-explanatory how stuff works site, providing information about the workings of the mechanical and natural world. Learning can be fun for kids and adults alike...
  • Of course, there's always a need for the basic tools of learning. Merriam-Webster's Word Central is an easy to use, colorful dictionary, and you'll find an excellent online encyclopedia at Funk and Wagnall's site.
